for Low Coolant Entry and Oil Filtration Applications
Polytech SL and SLE Series Automatic Vacuum Filters
 
Polytech's patented low entry vacuum filters are designed
to operate effectively with heavily aerated fluids. A low
coolant entry height ( as little as 10" ) or the use of heavily
aerated grinding and cutting oils is no problem at all. Coolant
can drain directly from the grinder or machine tool into the
filter section. The use of transfer pumps and tanks and problems
associated with clumpy, stringy or fibrous contaminants is
eliminated.
These filters turn conventional vacuum filter design upside
down. Dirty coolant is quickly filtered and transferred to
the upper clean tank where there is time and space to manage
entrained air in the fluid before separate, dedicated clean
coolant supply pump(s) return coolant to the machine tool
which eliminates the possibility of pump cavitation and loss
of coolant flow.
They automatically adjust to operating conditions to provide
the highest possible differential pressure and provide differential
pressures at least 30% greater than conventional vacuum filters
for good filtration performance and longer media life on both
water and oil based coolants.
The SL series are very compact to conserve plant space. The
SLE series provide higher discharges to allow the use of large
swarf hoppers. Both designs can provide great flexibility
for solving difficult packaging problems.
